Not So Scary Greeters
Our family absolutely LOVES the Magic Kingdom during the autumn and winter seasons; with the amazing decorations, music, special foods, unique events, rare character meet-n-greets, cooler weather (sometimes :) and of course the holiday parties!
I wanted to capture that wonderful feeling our family has when we walk through the Magic Kingdom tunnels at the front of the park and see those golden autumn decorations for the first time each year. The pairs of jack-o-lanterns that flank each side of Main Street are the harbingers of those special times. They feel “just right” as heralds of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween parties and old friends of the season with their warm grins.
I spent a large chunk of time, just standing in Main Street creating the beginning parts of this digital painting. Standing so close to the park’s front with the awe-filled guests arriving AND the popcorn carts churning out the hot and noisy treat made it hard to not get distracted! I really wanted to capture the bright warm colors of Disney in autumn and that feeling of magical things to come in this piece.
