Headless Horseman On Main Street

One of my very favorite parts of the Mickey's not so scary Halloween party is the Headless Horseman coming down Main Street. And that's why I wanted to capture the emotion and the spookiness and the eeriness of those moments as well as I could in this painting.

So I spent a lot of time on the horse and the horsemen himself, laying in a lot of detail gently and with light layers over and over again trying to make sure that I got the colors correct, the values correct.

I wanted to just make sure that the viewer's eye went directly to the Headless Horseman's head first and then the rest of the piece. But I wanted the overall impact of the piece to be eerie and moody and also not quite so scary :)
