Painting the Great Goofini
The Great One joining me for a reference photo.
The line-art stage of the painting, the rough sketch is visible faintly underneath.
We continue our quest to paint our favorite Walt Disney World meet-n-greets and recently, at the Magic Kingdom, several took place inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent in Fantasyland.
We rushed through the park headed to Pete’s for the encounter! We made it by mere seconds as we were the last guests allowed to join the line for the evening to see the Great Goofini! We congratulated each other on our achievement and as we celebrated, the Great Goofini joined in as if he had literally been waiting just to see us. We told Goofy we were thrilled to have him all to ourselves and, although exhausted from the rush to the tent, it was well worth the trek to see him! We then took pictures with our tall and goofy friend and created memories to last a lifetime!
What better time for a Walt Disney World snack than after goofing around with the Great Goofini? Cinnamon-glazed pecans are at the top of our family’s list, and we’ve mapped each theme park location for these tasty treats. At MK, we always head to Maurice's Amazing Popping Machine in Fantasyland. On this evening the line moved quickly and the nuts, as always, were warm, fresh, and the perfect sweet and nutty delights. The family dove into the bag and strolled through the park while I was eager the capture a sketch of the Goofini meet-n-greet as quickly as I could.
As I worked in Fantasyland absorbing the whimsical and timeless atmosphere, I transferred that feeling through my brush into the painting bringing it to life! Reliving the magic, that only Walt Disney could imagineer, through my artwork is the next best thing to being there! See you again real soon!
